Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 1904 Dufour truck, soon named Dufour-Ballabey, built in very limited numbers by Dufour & Tissot, engine makers, of Nyon, Vaud, Switzerland. It used a 2 cylinder engine of own manufacture, and double belt drive. The vehicle weighed in at 2.8 t. This picture was taken 11 September 11, 1905 in Martigny, Valais, prior of what became the first climb of a motor vehicle to the summit of the Great St Bernard pass. The journey took about two hours.
