ESS-C05071 Medieval ampulla
Description
English: Incomplete medieval cast lead alloy pilgrims ampulla. It is flask shaped, comprised of an oval body with a damaged and incomplete rectangular neck. There is a bent, triangular projection on each side of the base of the neck. The body has a cast design of a scallop shell on one surface, whilst the design on the other face is worn and unclear - possibly an initial within a circle. The ampulla is 40.49mm long, 18.99mm wide across the neck, 36.84mm wide across the body, is 7.93mm thick and weighs 39.66 grams.
