Early Atrebatic Type 50-45BC uninscribed silver unit
Description
English: The obverse depicts a highly stylised image of a 'Celticized' head, facing right. The head/face is made up of number of lines and pellets (forming the faces profile - forehead, nose, mouth and chin). The head is supported on a very thin neck and the depicted person is wearing a helmet with a crest. The identifying feature, on the obverse of this coin is the faces oval eye. The reverse of this coin depicts a highly stylised 'Celticized' horse, facing right. There is a wheel and a small ring below the horse. The horses breast and rump are made up of a pellet-in-ring design. There is also an unidentified object above the horse made up of a line and small rings, as well as two pellets inside rings and another small ring, towards the horses rump. Both faces of the coin are in an extremely good condition.
