Early Medieval Cruciform or Square headed Brooch Foot
Description
English: Cruciform brooch fragment. Cast spade-shaped or triangular foot from a cruciform or square-headed brooch, with a pair of owlish eyes and a small triangular nose above the foot. The upper part of the foot was also flanked by small lappets, each with a drilled hole and one broken across it. Gilding traces are trapped in these features. Abraded. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 550-600
