Title
Early Neolithic leaf shaped arrowhead
Description
English: About 90% of a leaf shaped arrowhead, missing the point to a break, dating to the Early Neolithic period. Both faces are covered by invasive, shallow, parallel retouch done by pressure flaking. There is a small unretouched area in the centre of one side. The arrowhead is broadly pointed oval with a wider base which comes to a point in the centre. The widest point is about a third of the way up from the base. The upper part of one side is slightly concave while the other is convex, the retouch suggests this is original. The arrowhead is a tertiary piece with no cortex left. As well as the straight break across the point there is a thin slice like chip missing at the base which has thinned it, this may be original. The flint is mid grey, slightly translucent flint with paler areas and mottling. It is 19.8mm long, 16.4mm wide and 3.2mm thick; it weighs 1.01 grams.
