Description
English: Edging, Brussels Duchesse, bobbin lace, linen, some needlepoint infilling, deep edging, pineapple-shaped motifs spaced along edge with flower heads; infilling of leaves and small flowers, assembled with brides. This is Brussels Duchesse edging, with some point de gaze fillings and some bobbin lace fillings. The lace may have been purchased as a length and used to edge collars and cuffs, or as an edge for a petticoat or apron; it would have been used where it could be seen.
