Description
Français : L'église de Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola en construction au village de Nominingue.

« Le curé Labelle, dans sa grande vision de la colonisation du Nord, demande à la Société de Jésus de fonder une mission à Nominingue dédiée à Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola.

Après une première chapelle et une petite église, voilà qu'en 1933 s'élève le temple que nous voyons aujourd'hui. Le curé bâtisseur est Salomon Noiseux, l'entrepreneur Ernest Thibault de Sainte-Thérèse, l'architecte Alfred Potvin de Montréal et le contremaître Charles Grenier, jeune architecte de Montréal. Faite de briques, de ciment et de bois à l'extérieur, de plâtre et de « veneer » à l'intérieur, elle est parée de ses plus beaux ornements : chaire, fontaine baptismale, toiles, sculptures, orgue Casavant, don des paroissiens de l'époque. L'église, après des rénovations importantes en 1983 et majeures en 2006 et 2007, est citée comme bâtiment historique. Pourvue d'une remarquable acoustique, elle est une merveilleuse salle de concert. » – Daniel Brosseau
