Cymraeg: Eglwys Sant Meugan, Llanrhudd, Rhuthun, Sir Ddinbych. Gradd I. Sant Meugan yw mam-eglwys Rhuthun, yn bell cyn-ddyddio Eglwys Sant Pedr yng nghanol y dref. Mae’n bosib y bu yna eglwys yma o’r 7g ond mae’r adeilad presennol yn dyddio o’r 15g yn unig. Mae’r gofadail i John Thelwall (a fu farw yn 1586) a’i wraig Jane (1585) o ‘Bathafarn House’ gerllaw yn gain iawn, os yn erchyll, braidd. English: The Church of Saint Meugan, Llanrhudd, Ruthin, Denbighshire, North Wales. Listed building: Grade l. St Meugan’s is the mother church of Ruthin, long predating St Peter’s in the centre of town. There may have been a church building on this site from the 7th century, and we know the name of the first rector, Bleddyn ap David, who was installed in 1390, but the present building dates only from the 15th century. |
