Two sturdy multilayered caps feature striped silks with animals of the hunt alternating with inscriptions citing the prominent sultan al-Nasir Muhammed ibn Qala’un. The winter-weight quilted cap was part of a set with a matching quilted vest. Sultans and high officials may have worn such caps wrapped with a kerchief according to rank. |
