Description
English: Elizabeth Acland (d.1738), daughter of John Acland (d.1703) of Wooleigh (eldest son of Hugh Acland, 5th Baronet) and wife of Sir John Davie, 6th Baronet (1700-1737) of Creedy, as is apparent from the arms of Davie (Argent, a chevron sable between three mullets pierced gules) impaling Acland (Chequy argent and sable, a fesse gules), surmounted by the Davie crest of A Paschal Lamb reguardant gules. (See Vivian, Lt.Col. J.L., (Ed.) The Visitation of the County of Devon: Comprising the Heralds' Visitations of 1531, 1564 & 1620, Exeter, 1895, p.5, pedigree of Acland and p.270, pedigree of Davie) Stated incorrectly by source above to represent Cecily Wroth, eldest daughter and eventual sole heiress of Sir Thomas Wroth, 3rd Baronet (1674–1721), MP, of Petherton Park, Somerset. She married of Sir Hugh Acland, 6th Baronet (1697-1728) of Killerton in Devon. Collection of National Trust, Killerton House, Devon, Accession number: 922304.
