Description |
English: Taken near back porch of Peterson Bros. photo studio at the foot of Cherry St . Original photograph by Peterson Bros., copied by Theodore Peiser. Coal bunkers of the Seattle Coal and Transportation Co. in background, at end of Pike St. wharf. Wreck of the WINDWARD at center left.
James Colman had the Windward towed to Seattle in early 1876, and sat outdoors until 1887, when he used its hulk of the Windward as fill for his property near the shore. While its exact location is unknown, it is still down there somewhere, most likely under the Colman Building. |
