Description

BRENG brengt de oplossing voor het materieel tekort van Arriva.

Sinds zondagavond 18 augustus 2019 rijden BRENG stellen 5041 en 5044 voor Arriva, tussen Arnhem en Tiel. Dit omdat de Arriva-Achterhoek-stellen 254 en 366 naar Friesland zijn, om daar tijdelijk het treinenbestand te versterken. De concessie van Arriva in het noorden van het land kampt met een materieel tekort. Arriva heeft extra capaciteit in Friesland nodig omdat daar treinstellen door aanrijdingen zijn uitgevallen en in reparatie zijn. Daarnaast wil de vervoerder de vloot volledig vernieuwen. Arriva heeft een nieuwe concessie om het openbaar vervoer in het noorden van het land Friesland te regelen voor de periode van 2020 tot 2035. De treinen krijgen een nieuwe look en worden voorzien van geavanceerde batterijpakketten.
