Summary

[edit]
Description Built in the 1940's, CPR 2024 was originally US Army 4076 and was never owned by Canadian Pacific Railway. In 1947, CPR 2024 and her sister CPR 2023 (US Army 4012) were sold as army surplus to Pacific Coast Terminals in New Westminister BC, where they were both used as yard locomotives until 1965. Destined to the scrapyards, a Victoria BC resident bought both engines and kept them in storage. Heritage Park bought CPR 2024 in 1967, then bought CPR 2023 in 1979. Both run the 1310m/4300 ft loop rail thru Heritage Park.
