Summary[edit]

Description

View of a clearing with a mossy area in winter dormancy in the Entenmoos, which is listed in the federal inventory of raised and transitional mires of national importance and in the federal inventory of the amphibian spawning areas of national importance. This protected area extends over almost 9 ha on the territory of the municipality of Rechthalten in the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland.

The characteristic profile of raised mires, is clearly visible. Raised knolls of peat and sphagnum mosses or brown mosses alternate with often wet depressions. The elevations and depressions support different plant formations in a very small space, depending on the bog water level and the nutrient conditions and the different site requirements of the plant species.

Panorama
InfoField
NOTE: This image is a panorama of Entenmoos consisting of 5 frames that were merged or stitched in Image Composite Editor using a stereo projection. As a result, this image necessarily underwent some form of digital manipulation. These manipulations may include blending, blurring, cloning, and colour and perspective adjustments. As a result of these adjustments, the image content may be slightly different from reality at the points where multiple images were combined. This manipulation is often required due to lens, perspective, and parallax distortions.
