Description Common along the roadside between Tucson Arizona east to Las Cruces New Mexico and south and east to Van Horn Texas and south to the Big Bend area. Along these stretches of highways, only in the Big Bend area does this introduced grass leave the roadside in infiltrate the adjacent rangeland. The open panicle includes a construction of generally cylindrical spikelets born from pedicels that are much shorter than the length of the spikelet.
