Description
English:
Serbian House. Built in 1952-1953 to Tennement Building. The Greek Orthodox Church built its church of St. Nicholas in the courtyard of this plot in 1792 and 1798, after a great fire destroyed the area. 1798 A new prayer hall was built. In 1789 a parsonage was built. In 1959 – due to lack of believers – the parish ceased to exist, and by the early 1980s both the church and the priest's residence were demolished. Building history plaque: Serbian House is a building of local importance. The Greek Orthodox Serbian Church built its church of St. Nicholas in the courtyard of this plot in 1792, and after the great fire that year in 1798. The building was demolished around 1960 On the street side, their tenement house was erected in 1852-53 and expanded in 1870. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Fiume café and the city's first cinema, Apollo Motion Picture Color.// - The memorial plaque was erected in 2003 by Zsuzsanna Tajti and Attila Tarnóczky" - 20 Erzsébet Square, Nagykanizsa, Zala County, Hungary.
