Português: Major Rui Carita nas escavações nas Casas de João Esmeraldo e Praça Colombo em julho de 1989. Com Francisco Serpa, arqueólogo Mário Varela Gomes e Laurindo Caldeira Teixeira perante a exumação de um enterramento. Inaugurado a 16 de junho de 1996 como Núcleo Museológico da Cidade do Açúcar, com material do anterior Museu da Cidade de 1986, desativado no início da década de 90 e no material exumado na área nas escavações dirigidas pelo arqueólogo Mário Varela Gomes, no verão de 1989, foi muito afetado pela aluvião de 20 de fevereiro de 2010, voltando a reabrir seis anos depois como Museu A Cidade do Açúcar, a 4 de julho de 2016 e tendo o catálogo da exposição permanente sido apresentado a 29 de novembro de 2023. |
