Summary[edit]
DescriptionEsmond Atkinson • Forest Lore of the Maori • p227.tif |
English: If Maori needed to acend a particular tree but could not find a way of doing so, they would look for a nearby tree that could be easily climbed. They would climb this tree using a ladder, then haul up a pole with hook at one end which they would hook on to a branch of the tree they wished to climb. Two poles hooked in this way and secured would give access to to the head of the tree. "Poles to give access to adjacent trees."
