Scope and content: These are the private motion pictures of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun, which were seized by the US Army, in Germany, in 1945. They were subsequently assembled into 8 reels by the US Army, from 28 reels of original camera rolls. The National Archives received this film in 1947, and in 2012 began the digital restoration process, using existing negative copies. The original 28 reels of footage was not originally compiled by the US Army in chronological or thematic order, and these reels reflect that original assembly from 1945. Shot list: B/W. Shots of airfield, line of soldiers. Several scenes and locations showing General von Manstein and other officers inspecting armaments, defenses; reviewing and pinning medals on German and other soldiers (possibly Italian). Footage repeats. Color, scenes of Braun and her family in Copenhagen; at sea,and returning to port in Germany, scenes of countryside from interior of car. Color, exterior, Braun with her family on a boat, Scenes of city and the water. Out at sea, view of military and other boats. Views of ship in harbor, hands from people on boat can be seen giving Nazi salute. Ship docks. Color, exterior, city street, man shakes woman's hand. Scenes of countryside taken from car. Color, exterior scenes of Herta Schneider, children, Gretl Braun, Anni Brandt, Erwin Schneider, children, and others on terrace and grounds of Berghof and at other locations, at Easter. Exterior, lake, woman in a row boat, other scenes at lake. Exterior scenes at house, women and children walk on lawn, play with toys, rabbits, and dogs. Gretl Braun and Anni Brandt with dogs at Berghof.
