Description
Français : Évolution de la population de rennes introduite par l'homme sur l'. La décroissance et l'extinction de la population sont les conséquences de l'épuisement des ressources alimentaires naturelles des rennes.
  • 1944 : 29 rennes (introduction des rennes sur l'île)
  • 1957 : 1 350 rennes
  • 1960 : 6 000 rennes
  • 1966 : 42 rennes (effondrement de la population)
  • 1980 : 0 renne (disparition)
English: Evolution of 's reindeer population. The reindeers were brought on the island by the U.S. Coast Guard. Overpopulation caused the lack of food, then the whole population died off.
