| Description | View, from the northwest, of one end of the open swing span of the disused Chicago & North Western Railway swing bridge (officially, Drawbridge #1556 of C&NW) over the Milwaukee River, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was built in 1915, to replace an older bridge. The railroad line across it was abandoned several years ago, and the 243-foot-long swing span is now fixed in the open position at all times. |
