Description A U.S. Navy Grumman F-14A Tomcat aircraft and a Grumman A-6E Intruder aircraft fly out in front of a group of 18 Tomcat aircraft as the fighter and heavy attack squadrons of Carrier Air Wing 3 (CVW-3) and Carrier Air Wing 17 (CVW-17) return to Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia (USA) after being deployed in the Persian Gulf region during the 1991 Gulf War. USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67), with assigned CVW-3, was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea from 15 August 1990 to 28 March 1991. USS Saratoga (CV-60), with assigned CVW-17, was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea from 7 August 1990 to 28 March 1991.
