Title
FURNITURE FITTING
Description
English:

An incomplete copper alloy post medieval pear-shaped drop handle from a piece of furniture (AD c.1650-c.1750), missing small fragments from its edge. The object is convex on the front and concave on the back. The lower half is broadly oval-shaped with a small knob at the terminal. At the opposite end the object narrows to form a long neck which then wides slightly towards a grooved collar at the top. From this projects a trapezoidal suspension loop. Overall, the object measures 47.3mm long, 18.1mm wide and 6.7mm thick. It weighs 6.78g.
