Description
Svenska: Utanför Bredestads kyrka i Aneby kommun i Jönköpings län hittas en rest sten i granit med den imponerande höjden 3, 2 meter (och den stor lutad mot en sten i kvartsit 1, 5 hög). Den torde vara rest under järnåldern som en fruktbarhetssymbol och har en motsvarighet i Rödsten vid Grebo i Åtvidabergs kommun. I anslutning till stenen i Bredestad finns också några gravar, mindre resta stenar och två stora block. Odlingslandskapet i Bredestaddalen har ett rikligt antal fornminnen från denna tidsepok i form av runstenar, gravfält, järnframställningsplatser och boplatser. År 2000 grävdes ett långhus fram endast ca 500 meter sydöst om fallosstenen, som ligger invid en järnframställningsplats, Örle gravfält med drygt 100 gravar och en runsten, som påträffades hösten 1952 vid reparationen av Bona gästgivaregård. Den senare invid Bredestads 1100-tals kyrka, byggd på en gammal offerkulle där Vibäcken rinner fram. Väster om fallosstenen finns Bredestads gravfält med drygt 20 gravar.
