Summary[edit]

Description
English: A child holds a ball on a spoon waiting for the Ping-Pong balance race at the Fallujah Sports Day. Nearly 400 men and boys shared sportsmanship and camaraderie at a newly renovated schoolyard in downtown Fallujah, Iraq, Apr. 3, 2008. The sports day offered local residents a safe and organized event that included volleyball, basketball, gymnastics and a bodybuilding demonstration. All participants received awards and recognition at the end of the afternoon. U.S. Marines from 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment based out of Camp Pendleton, Calif., have worked with Fallujah officials to create a safe, prosperous environment for the last six months.
