Nederlands: 4500 soldaten van de Spanjaarden onder leiding van Christóbal de Mondragón doorwaden de Zijpe over tussen Schouwen en Duiveland in de nacht van 28 op 29 september 1575. Schepen van de Watergeuzen kunnen vanwege eb niet aanvallen. Kerktoren van Zierikzee. Landvoogd don Luis de Zúñiga y Requesens staat linksonder met een katholieke priester met wijwaterkwast.
English: 4500 Spanish soldiers led by Christóbal de Mondragón successfully wade through the Zijpe from Schouwen to Duiveland in the night of 28/29 September 1575 during the Eighty Years' War. Ships of the rebel Watergeuzen stand by and cannot attack because of the tide. Spire of the church of Zierikzee. Spanish Governor don Luis de Requesens y Zuñiga is present at the bottom left with a catholic priest.
