Português: Fotografia registrando o major Francisco de Moraes durante a Festa do Dois de Julho em Caetité no início da década de 1920.
Na imagem o cortejo no então "Largo da Feira" ou "Largo do Alegre" (atual Praça Dr. Rodrigues Lima ou "Feira Velha") em que aparecem alguns dos casarões seculares e o Mercado Municipal (à direita), construído na gestão do Coronel Cazuzinha (1897) como intendente. Caetité foi a primeira cidade do estado da Bahia a comemorar a vitória brasileira nas lutas que consolidaram a independência de Portugal a 2 de julho de 1823 (havendo registro de que essa festa teve sua primeira edição já em 1826). Esta é a imagem mais antiga do festejo. Imagem digitalmente restaurada por André Koehne, e publicada originalmente no site da revista Bahia com História. |
