Description
English:
Local grade listed fire lookout tower. It was built in 1903 to protect the village's then mostly thatched-roofed houses in historicist style. It was renovated in 1978, 1998 and 2015. In front of a round window in the middle of the tower you can see the statue of St. Florian, the patron saint of firefighters. Under the statue is a memorial plaque announces that the fire tower was: ~"It was built by the village in 1903 during the official office of judge Zsigmond Károly, notary István Gerő, and Commander-in-Chief Dezső Tschepen Ö.T.E. by local entrepreneur Jakab Róth." /note: Ö.T.E.=abbr.: Volunteer fire department /. - The inscription on the memorial plaque on the facade ground floor part: ~"The fire tower was restored by the craftsmen of the village in 1978 in honor of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of KIOSZ." KIOSZ=abbr. National Organization of Craftsmen. - Szent István Road and Táncsics Mihály Street corner, Ercsi, Fejér County, Hungary.
