In 1943, Louis Lee took this photograph of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt christening the U.S. Navy escort aircraft carrier USS Alazon Bay. The ship was built under a Maritime Commission contract sponsored by the first lady. It was later re-named the USS Casablanca and served in the South Pacific.
