| Description | View looking northwestward down Niagara Street from Shelton Square in downtown Buffalo, New York, 1870. At left is the original home of First Presbyterian Church, a Federal-style building constructed in 1827 and demolished in 1890, whereupon the congregation moved to its present building on Symphony Circle. The Erie County Savings Bank building would be built on the site three years later, which itself fell to the wrecking ball in 1968. Main Place Tower occupies the site today. |
