NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Sept. 21, 2012) Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs Juan M. Garcia III, left, Yale University President Richard Levin and Air Force Lt. Gen. David S. Fadok, commander and President of the Air University, cut a ribbon welcoming back the Naval and Air Force ROTC programs at Yale University. the ceremony took place in front of a cenotaph honoring officers and Yale ROTC alumni who served in World War I. Yale was one of the first universities to have an ROTC unit beginning in 1926. The ribbon cutting re-establishes the ROTC presence on the university campus, missing since the 1970’s.
