SAN DIEGO (July 10, 2012) Divers from the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center drop a cofferdam into the water next to the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) before conducting hull maintenance. Southwest Regional Maintenance Center is the largest shore based intermediate maintenance activity and the second largest ship repair facility in the Southwestern United States, providing intermediate level maintenance support to more than 100 surface ships and submarines of the U.S. Pacific Fleet and U.S. Coast Guard.
