CLEVELAND (Aug. 28, 2012) Peace time crew members Bob Laczko and Alan Winkler attached with WWII Fleet Submarine USS Cod (SS 224) living history memorial, man the five inch deck gun to give the Royal Canadian Navy ships arriving a gun salute during the Navy’s commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 in Cleveland, this celebration is one of 15 signature events planned across America in 2012. The week-long event commemorates the Bicentennial of the War of 1812, hosting service members of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy.
