Description

ARABIAN SEA (Feb. 23, 2012) A qualified landing signalman enlisted (LSE) gives training to another Sailor as a CH-46E Sea Knight helicopter assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron (HMM) 268 (Reinforced) prepares to land on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Makin Island and embarked Marines assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU) are deployed supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
