Description NORFOLK (March 23, 2011) Quartermaster 3rd Class Nishee Queen, from Philadelphia, uses an alidade navigational device to relay bearing from land readings to quartermasters inside the pilothouse as the amphibious dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) departs Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story as part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group. The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group deployed ahead of its original schedule in order to relieve units from the Kearsage Amphibious Ready Group in the Mediterranean Sea.
