Description

POLARIS POINT, Guam (May 31, 2012) Capt. Paul Savage, commanding officer of the submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39), first officer Steven Rose, and executive officer Cmdr. Kurt Stronach, watch as the Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Tucson (SSN 770) moors alongside. Tucson, homeported in Peral Harbor, is on a deployment to the western Pacific Ocean, while Emory S. Land is on an extended deployment in Guam serving as the primary afloat maintenance activity in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
