Description

Embora em desuso actualmente, este forno já foi em tempos um dos locais mais importantes do Concelho. Segundo lendas populares, o forno era lugar de milagres por altura das festas de Nossa Senhora da Guia.

No largo da Igreja, ao cimo de um enorme espaço aberto, que foi o antigo terreiro, pode admirar-se o grande Forno, construído no topo de uma imponente escadaria que terá origem medieval. Embora em desuso actualmente, este forno já foi em tempos um dos locais mais importantes do Concelho.

O Forno é uma construção hexagonal, com uma cruz de trevo no topo da cúpula e dois pináculos piramidais ao lado da cruz.

Este Forno esteve, desde sempre, ligado às Festas de Nossa Senhora da Guia. Segundo a lenda, nesses dias de romaria havia uma pessoa que entrava no Forno bem quente, levando a farinha para fazer um enorme bolo. Após a cozedura do bolo, entrava novamente no Forno e, na boca, para sua protecção, levava um cravo.
