Description
Español: Fuente de la Diosa Pomona en la plaza San Francisco, Málaga, España. Se compone de una taza circular de mármol sobre la que se sitúa un pilar con un fuste de columna estriado en su mitad superior a modo de pedestal, en el que figura la fecha de ejecución (1864). La parte inferior de la columna está decorada por cuatro mascarones de cuyas bocas mana el agua, unidos por guirnaldas. La diosa aparece vestida a la romana y portando en su mano izquierda un cesto de flores y frutos, como símbolo de su condición protectora de los árboles frutales. La escultura de la diosa fue realizada en mármol de Carrara por el escultor Juan Bautista Bado en la ciudad italiana de Savona. [1]
