English: Handwritten on verso: Alsternixe 4 m. bark The Alsternixe was built in 1892 by Harland & Wolff, in Belfast. She was originally named LORD TEMPLEMORE, and owned by Irish Shipowners Co., of Belfast. She was sold in 1898 to Aktiengesellschaft Alster of Hamburg, and was renamed Alsternixe. In 1906 she left Callao, Peru, for Melborune, Australia, and disappeared. She is believed to have sank in a heavy gale in the South Pacific around January 18th, 1907. |
