Keyboard Caravan (Imperial LP-12011) — Here's a recording that can be recommended on two counts: one, it features Frankie Ortega on the piano and a group that has a pleasurable Latin beat; and two, the stereo sound is tops. Ortega is joined by Carl Tandberg, base; Al Viola, guitar; Walter Sage, drums, and Tito Rivera, conga drums — a group that doesn't have to strain for good music; they just play it. Numbers include "Sunny Side of the Street," "Erectly Like Ton," other standards, Verdict: A pleasant journey.
