English: A study of outreach activities published in the journal Nature Astronomy has presented the results of a survey gathered from 2587 IAU members. The survey is the first and largest systematic study of astronomers’ outreach activities. Astronomers were found to show an exceptional internal drive to organise and participate in science communication activities.This figure shows the frequency of participation in online media channels by IAU astronomers. The percentages of respondents who use each channel at each indicated level of frequency are shown. |
