English: Copper alloy Roman furniture fitting diameter 17mm, length 14mm, weight 14.28g. The object is a solid cast bell-shaped or concavo-convex knob with an expanded base. There is a rectangular slot on the base for an iron pin, this is now missing. Within the cup of the bell shape is a tall conical protruding boss with a central dimple. This type of fitting is known from the 1st to the 4th century |
