Die untere Tafel - das sogenannte Glücksrad - besitzt einen Spruchtext in lateinischer Sprache: FORTUNA = LUDERE SIC NOVIT DEA MOBILIS AT MALE LUDIT (wechselnd zu spielen versteht so die Göttin, doch spielt sie verderblich). Das Bild zeigt im Zentrum die Göttin, sie steht auf einer weiblichen Figur, jeweils links, rechts und über ihr sind weitere Frauenfiguren dargestellt - die Gesamtfigur ist als Schicksalsrad bekannt. Die beiden Tafeln wurden noch im 16. Jahrhundert in die Fassade eingesetzt. Historischer Anlass war das durch die Grumbachschen Händel zum Schlechten gewendete Schicksal des einstigen sächsischen Kurfürsten Johann Friedrich I. - er verlor Macht und Einfluss.
