Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Drawing of pendulum clock designed by Galileo Galilei around 1641, drawn by Vincenzo Viviani in 1659. Part of the front supporting plate is removed by the artist to show the wheelwork. Probably the first design for a pendulum clock although it didn't have a face. It was partly constructed by Galileo's son, who died before he could finish it. Caption text: "Viviani's drawing of Galileo's design for use of pendulum to measure time, dictated by the blind Galileo to his son in 1641. Opere di Galileo, 19:656.
