Garret S. Voorhees, Dies at Kent, Connecticut. Special to The Eagle. Kent, Connecticut; February 21, 1935. Garret Stephen Voorhees, senior master of the Kent School and a descendant of a Brooklyn Colonial family, died of pneumonia yesterday at his home on the school grounds. He was 58. Mr. Voorhees, son of the late Samuel Beekman Voorhees and Anne Polhemus Voorhees, was a direct descendant of Peter Coerte Van Voorhees, who settled in Flatlands. Kings County, early in the seventeenth century. He received his B.A. degree at Princeton University in 1899 and his M.A. degree from the same university in 1903. From 1906 to 1918 he was acting principal of St. James Preparatory Collegiate School in New York. His wife and a son and daughter survive him. Funeral services will be held in Kent School Chapel at 11:30 tomorrow.
