Bijbelse taferelen (serietitel) Objecttype: prent Serienummer: 43/90 Objectnummer: RP-P-1906-3918 Catalogusreferentie: New Hollstein Dutch 384-2(2) Omschrijving: Verschillende taferelen uit het evangelie van Lucas over de geboorte van Christus. De taferelen zijn genummerd op passage. Uiterst links van de prent verschijnt de engel Gabriël aan de priester Zacharias. Hij verkondigt hem de geboorte van zijn zoon Johannes de Doper (Lucas 1:9-20). Zacharias verlaat vervolgens de tempel en wordt bevraagd door het volk (Lucas 1:21-23). Uiterst rechts wordt Maria bezocht door de engel Gabriël die haar de geboorte van Christus verkondigt (Lucas 1:26-35). In het midden van de prent de visitatie van Maria aan haar nicht Elisabet (Lucas 1:36-56). Op de achtergrond is rechts de geboorte van Johannes de Doper te zien (Lucas 1:57-58), terwijl het kerstverhaal met de geboorte van Christus in een stal in Betlehem centraal op de achtergrond plaatsvindt (Lucas 2:6-14). Links wordt Christus besneden in de tempel (Lucas 2:21).
