Description
English: Prisoner photograph: Brigadier General and Deputy Defense Secretary Bedřich Reicin after his arrest in 1951. Bedřich Reicin (* 1911 - † 1952) came from a Jewish family in Plzeň (formerly Reinziger or Reicinger). From the thirties of the twentieth century, he was a functionary of the youth communist organization and a co-worker in the Rudé Právo newspaper. In 1939, he was arrested by the Gestapo and, after his release, escaped to the Soviet Union, where he was soon arrested too. In 1942, he joined the Foreign Army, where he acted as an educational officer. In 1945 he became Chief of Military Intelligence Service OBZ in the Czechoslovak Army. After the communist coup in 1948, he was provably involved in the "purge" of the army from the enemies of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ). In the early fifties of the twentieth century, however, he became a victim in connection with the "Rudolf Slánský process" and was eventually executed to dead in Prague in 1952.
