DescriptionGilbertMontStQuentinMemorial.jpg | Sculpture by Charles Web Gilbert - the figure of an AIF soldier designed as a part of the Mont St. Quentin, France, AIF Memorial. The memorial was for the 2nd AIF Division and was the first Divisional memorial of this type built. The project was sponsored by private payment. During World War II the German Army removed the monument and its fate is not known. Gilbert's studio was in Gore Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne. |
