Description

(6000 x 2624) January 2, 2012. On the South Rim of the park, Grandeur Point is located along the Trail of Time portion of the Canyon Rim Trail about .5 miles/ .8 km west of the Yavapai Museum of Geology. The point may be only be reached on foot. NPS Photo by Michael Quinn

The Rim Trail extends west from the South Kaibab Trailhead, past Mather Point to the village area, then onto Hermits Rest. The Rim Trail offers excellent walking for quiet views of the inner canyon and for visitors who desire a fairly easy hike. No water west of Bright Angel Trailhead. By using the shuttle buses, you can customize your hike to meet your needs. Much of the trail is paved and accessible.
