Description
English: Iron Age coin; struck gold stater of North-Eastern (Corieltauvi) locality. The coin is of the Uninscribed North-Eastern ‘Domino’ variant of the ‘Ferriby’ type and probably dates from the late 1st century BC.

Obv. Laurel line crossed by a long leaf with ‘triplets’ of lines to either side of its base. Above the laurel line is a pellet and two crescents, each containing a ‘V’. Uninscribed Rev. Horse heading left. Above the horse is a rectangular box containing a line of 4 pellets. Pellet below tail. Below the horse is a spiral, classified ‘spiral J’ by Hobbs. Uninscribed

Diameter 18.7mm, thickness 3.2mm, weight 5.12g
